Easily one my favorite books, though I haven't read it in a while.

What types do you the main characters are?

It's been years since I've read the book, but I would type the Giver as INFJ. The whole theme of the book (transferring unseen information from one generation to the next) sounds extremely Ni Fe.

I really loved this book (kind of Brave New World lite), but I don't remember most of the characters themselves being especially complex. Also, aren't the "normal" (i.e., not the Giver and Jonas) characters probably intentionally undeveloped as to emphasize the "sameness" across people in their culture?

The Giver as INFJ seems right, almost to the point of cliche (INFJs as "mystics" and all that). Wouldn't that likely make Jonas INFJ as well?
