I've thought him to be 9w1 and 937, same tritype as myself actually. I recognize where he's being natural and where he's maintaining control, where he's enthusing naturally and where to affect and see his (usually well-hidden) frustration with the inability of people to work together and get along to achieve positive change. So, yes, I could see him easily as 9w1.

I had a hard time reading him. Never really sure what type fits him. Guess I'll read the thread and simultaneously bump it by saying this. :D

I don't know what it is about him that throws me. I saw a documentary about his history and there did seem to be some kind of anti-west sentiment when it came to his beliefs about historic US Imperialism (which isn't necessarily bad or good), so maybe that influenced him towards more socialistic ideas. I could never figure what his aim was as President though. He had some good messages and I liked his acceptance of things like LGBT rights and minority rights and all that (and it seemed very genuine), but it perplexed me that he borrowed more money than Bush did (even though I know it was to help stimulate the economy). And the whole Obamacare, although good in theory didn't deal with the exorbitant costs of the health care system. But it is a start. But I don't know. Maybe it's a realization that he was just kind of winging it or something and that he just tried to get done whatever he could. But in his speeches, it seemed like his feeling came from something within and had more of a directed purpose, rather than a feeling that molds and responds to its surroundings. I didn't get too much of a Ti vibe with him either that I'd expect more from an ENFJ.

But I thought it was interesting how well he seemed to deal with Trump after Hillary lost. It seemed like he was respectful to Trump, despite all the stuff that was said between the two during Hillary's campaign. I mean Trump was set on getting rid of Obamacare, but he seemed to have changed his tune after meeting with Obama. So that's interesting.

So I don't know. I could see arguments for ENFP, ENFJ, and even ENTJ. But Fe lead just doesn't sit right for me for some reason. And ENFPs are Ne guided, irrational/perceiving types and I think a position in Congress might be a little to confining and boring for someone like that?

Obama is not easy to type, probably because he has a pretty dynamic personality while also being polished. I don't really see anything wrong with an ENFJ typing for him, but it also doesn't click in the way I'd expect it to if it were entirely accurate. I suppose since Trump is ESTP, ENFJ would make sense for Obama just because of how opposite they are to each other. But that's pretty shoddy rationalizing, so overall I'm not sure.

The wicked smart kind. His wife was asleep one night and woke up in the middle if the night to see him sttting there deep in thought. She asked "What are you thinking about". Two words came out of his mouth, "Income equality". That was before he was president and before be was even running. If that's not an idealist, I dont know what is.

Im fairly sure hes ENTX. Is very charming especially in his public speeches but one-on-one has a slightly cold, clinical air to him. Well balanced between thinking and feeling but I would edge more towards T.

Leads with a judging function rather than a perceiving one. Everything he says has the feel of finality, decisiveness, a judgment made. He has the wicked sense of humour I would associate with an Ne, but his jokes seem prepared and are delivered in a deliberate fashion, rather than having that impulsive, off-the cuff style of an Ne. So I go TeNi: ENTJ.

Coupla fun videos to chew over if you are so inclined. I welcome debate on this matter! Please tell me how I am wrong! I would be most easily persuaded towards Fe - especially since that seems to be the consensus on this thread and I am inclined to value public opinion.

[Edit] Obama's slogan of "Yes we can!" and his book "Audacity of Hope", and general focus towards change and the future, are heavily indicative of an Intuitive. Possibilities over actualities.

Barack Obama knows how to pull people in, he's a mass seducer.

I don't know his real agenda, but he's a dangerously likable guy.

Love this clip. Two slick smart guys parrying and leveraging off each other. It's so much better than the awkwardness of the other clip where the intelligence levels and senses of humor don't mesh.

Obama's type is HAWT. MBTI type is ENFJ.
