By natue of a sitcom they all seem like extraverts to me, they're all too outgoing and abrasive when they meet new people. But perhaps for some of them their true characters are introverts.

I'd just add that I really hate this show, especially the characters of Phoebe and Ross, but I've watched it too much not to add my two cents.

These are my guesses:

Monica ESTJ, seen her referred to as an ESFJ as well which doesn't seem that far-fetched.

Rachel ISFP, the only one I've put as an introvert, but probably does have a lot of ESFP moments.

Phoebe ENFP, She's too much in a fantasy world to seem a J or an S, she's possibly an introvert though.

Ross ENTJ, I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, and want him as far away from being an INTP as an NT can get.

Chandler ENTP, arrogant like an INTP, but too obnoxious, has to be heard too much. His jokes don't change either like an introvert may try to do.

Joey ESFP, see the "ESFP" stupid myth. Can't be bothered adding a link.

If you label Rachel an introvert I think the world ends.

I hold her as ESFJ.

She's helpful, representative, it's in her appearance.

If introverted she'd be ISFJ, but ESFJ really fits I guess.

Joey ESFP good one.

Phoebe really ISFP.

Yeah Monica ESTJ (I thought ESFP once, note how she loves to perform).

Chandler, Ross are hard. Ross Intj (some sort of scientist, little childish at times...), Chandler I have no idea. Extraverted, but for the rest... E, X, T, J...
What about ENTJ?

I agree about Ross, he does seem more NFJ than anything else.

Actually, come to think of it, Ross is a great analogy for me to explain to online people how my INTJ sometimes looks like INFJ. I mean, clearly some of his quirks and characteristics are because his character exists on a sitcom, but IMO he's a clear TJ who has embraced the Fi that he has and isn't in any way afraid of it.

Rachel - ESTP - compare her to Joey, no Fi, tert-Fe
Monica - ESFJ
Phoebe - ENFP - a prototypical ENFP, IMO
Joey - ESFP
Chandler - eNTP
Ross - ISFJ, he's actually the hardest to type for me

Ross - INFJ

That's an interesting perspective, but only if Rachel is ESTP. They seem "opposite" and drawn to one another because of it.

He does seem very imaginative / out of touch with reality also...

If I'm going to go with my theory that Ross is an infj, then, it would make sense that Rachel can be estp. But she seem to superficial and girly to be an estp- but that's just a stereotype. Because estps and infjs are opposite not isfjs and estps

ESTPs aren't ever superficial? ESFPs are?
Most of the ESTP women I've known are very concerned with their appearance & status....

ISFJs & ESTPs are not functional opposites, but they seem pretty different, especially if you have the genders reversed from what is typical for each type.

But I do see INFJ as possible for him, even if those who put INFJs on a pedestal would likely protest that such a whiny character as Ross could never be the mythical, majestic INFJ

That's why I said Rachel was an esfp and not estp.

Joey is an ESFP
Rachel is ESFP
Phoebe is ENFP or INFP
Candler ENTP works
Ross is tough. Isn't he stubborn, bossy, and arrogant? That doesn't seem to fit IxFJ. Not really sure about him...
