Hey

One of the interesting facets of Harry Potter was the comparision between Hermione and Luna's different type sof intellegence/thinking/processing....

Hermione ....
Very well read, very studious, has completed her recommended text on the first day of school, took extra classes, loathed divination because it is a wooly subject... liked things that are more tangible. Has compasion and is fairly principled... stands up for others who are weaker/less able than herself (house elfs etc). Was placed in Grifindor rather than Ravenclaw because she was more brave than cleaver.... Is a good planner (the handbag in the last book seems to most women's idea), can be skeptic about things that she can evidence. Was picked on in year one because she was a know-it-all and tell-tale, and had prominent teeth and frizzy hair and was shunned before she made friends with Harry and Ron. Is muggle born

Luna .......
Luna appears half way through the series, appears to beleive in many extraordinary things, reads Quibber her fathers magazine. Is clearly very cleaver (is in Ravenclaw house) and tends to beleive in things that are unproven. She is with born and her mother died when she was young while carring out experimnetal spells. Often knows things that others do not, can give very sensitive and wise council. Has an unusal dress sense. Was picked on for being different, is isolated from the her main class mates and thinks that Harry, Ron and Hermyoney are cooler than she is. In the last book her more outlnadish thinking/beliefs come through as a saving grace...

Be interested in here what collective types you think these two are (fill in their types in the poll) but also who you think is the better thinker....... of chip in with comments on the different thinking/learning/intellectual considerations...
