Just kidding. But I do consider INFP and ISFP artists to sometimes have different preferences in music style. With INFPs leaning further away from James Blunt pop music than ISFPs. But just as a tendency.

That's cool. Some of the musicians typed as ISFP make me want to puke. Some like Dylan and Ozzy are cool though.

I say he could be ISFJ. But IxFP could match to.

As a pilot and ex-army officer who studied physics and aerospace engineering in university I would say James Blunt = ISTP. But he has suffered PTSD for many years now which changes everything and after getting into music could explain the softness or anti-violence nature of the lyrics.

Why is he called James Blunt if he doesn't smoke any?
And now there came out of this building a form - human - was it human? ... It reminded me of symbolical images of Genius or Demon that are seen on Etruscan vases or limned on the walls of Eastern sepulchres - images that borrow the outlines of man, and are yet of another race.

    ISFP

You're Beautiful is about as in the moment as it gets with zero metaphors, analogies or meta.

    "You're Beautiful"

    My life is brilliant

    My life is brilliant
    My love is pure
    I saw an angel
    Of that I'm sure
She smiled at me on the subway
    She was with another man
But I won't lose no sleep on that
    'Cause I've got a plan

    You're beautiful. You're beautiful
    You're beautiful, it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
'Cause I'll never be with you

    Yes, she caught my eye
    As we walked on by
She could see from my face that I was
    Fucking high
[Flying high - video/radio edited version]
And I don't think that I'll see her again
But we shared a moment that will last 'til the end

    You're beautiful. You're beautiful
    You're beautiful, it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
'Cause I'll never be with you

    You're beautiful. You're beautiful
    You're beautiful, it's true
There must be an angel with a smile on her face
When she thought up that I should be with you
But it's time to face the truth
I will never be with you
