Default Machavelli, Borgias and The Bonfire of the Vanities

This is featured in the TV show The Borgias, I wonder what the likelihood is that in real life the clerical emissary of the Borgias really met Machavelli and stood with him lamenting the burning of botecellis at the bonfire of the vanities or if they are just putting all these things together for dramatic effect?

Sounds unlikely, as there are some doubts how the Botticellis were destroyed. But Cesare Borgia did meet with Machiavelli, and they did spent some time together (Machiavelli was invited to Borgia court) and Cesare was featured in his famous book (The Prince). Machiavelli also didn't have very high views of Savonarola and viewed him as an incompetent, ill-prepared, and "unarmed" prophet.

By the way, I really liked the series. Micheletto was great.
