Personally, I'm of the opinion that this says less about the blogosphere and more about how shitty Obama's press secretary is. I'm amazed he's still on, I thought he was a pompous idiot the first time I saw him.

I'm also not surprised how much the blogosphere is left leaning. It's been my own experience that the Dem's are much further ahead on the uptake as far as embracing the Internet and all that whereas the Right has only recently begun to step up and assert themselves on the web. If memory serves, Obama was very hip and popular with the younger, techno-savvy crowd so I'm not at all surprised that he has a small army of bloggers supporting him.

The title is stupid, though I think there's merit to the accusations.

... but you do need a study when you cite the numbers of one.

EDIT: The article you linked was from a columnist who describes herself as "token conservative" of the paper (so she's about as credible as a gossiping old woman from the hair salon my grandmother goes to), and the study you linked actually says that less journalists identify as either Republican or Democrat and identify as Independents.

Compared to 2002, the updated demographic profile of U.S. journalists reveals that they are now older on average, slightly more likely to be women, slightly less likely to be racial or ethnic minorities, slightly more likely to be college graduates, more likely to call themselves independents politically, and less likely to identify with both the Republican and democratic political parties.
So, your token conservative columnist cited a study incorrectly and you believed her without double-checking, and have just cited a study that refutes your point.

This is why you don't pull numbers out of your ass, then try to cite it afterwards with a source you didn't read.
