    Here, as of this morning, if the US is going to Syria, so are the Russians, they've moved a missile cruiser into the area.

    What does the us government expect by waging wars in so many islamic nations? Not that any islamic government is doing well on their own. Most of them are ruled by dictators anyway. However most of these dictators are not islamic extremists and - believe it or not - are considerably secular than nations which are completely under the barbaric racist sharia law.

    So why remove them? Seems like the usa governments prefer to deal with islamic fanatics than less islamic dictators.

    I think its okay as long as they just send few VERY well targeted bombs to help the opposition to gain enough power to take control, AND look out that the extremists from the forces of the opposition doesent try to snatch the control after the opposition wins.

    Well to ensure this they would need to get more and more involved and police the opposition, when no-one even knows who the leadership is.

    The logical thing would be to spend that money sending aid to the refugees rather than bombing the many Syrians in government strongholds, who see it as the lesser evil as opposed to discrimination they may face as women, Christians, alawites or Shia if the opposition takes hold.

    They could then negotiate with the existing government instead of with a phantom state.

    however they prefer to negotiate with a weak state rather than a strong one, that seems to be their only criteria.

    No reason to involve ourselves.

    I agree. And it seems like a lot of people do. Why do we do it? What do we gain? There has to be an ulterior motive, right? Like oil in Iran?
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    The only motive is for Obama not to look stupid for going back on his word.

    Its impossible for Obama to look stupid, he is the epitome of cool, there's more risk of Morgan Freeman appearing stupid.

    Maybe he doesn't look stupid, just cowardly and dishonest.
