The Slavs are the most hateful race, from a racial standpoint.
And now there came out of this building a form - human - was it human? ... It reminded me of symbolical images of Genius or Demon that are seen on Etruscan vases or limned on the walls of Eastern sepulchres - images that borrow the outlines of man, and are yet of another race.

When people are so readily swayed by emotional arguments, there is no end to what you can persuade them to believe.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

What do you mean? That they are haters? Or that they are deserving of hatred?
All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.
Chapter IV, p. 448. - Adam Smith, Book 3, The Wealth of Nations

whether or not you credit psychoanalysis itself, the fact remains that we all must, to the greatest extent possible, understand one another's minds as our own; the very survival of humanity has always depended on it. - Open Culture

I think people have to deal with value conflicts in social work which they wont encounter in other walks of life or jobs, perhaps a plumber or electrician may think about who they want to provide services to but basically plumbing or electricity per se do not involve, in a operative sense, value conflicts, tradition vs. innovation or questions about practice norms are not the same.

People need to be able to recognise their value conflicts, and more important still recognise and reflect on what's underlying them, in social work. I know lots of people who are involved in major value conflicts in social work practice and underlying it all are some very basic internal conflicts and strivings, control issues, avoidance, emotional/stress equilibrium/stability and managing personal anxieties. Erich Fromm only wrote a little about it in his book Escape from Freedom/Fear of Freedom but fields like social work are absolutely ripe for the "caring sadists" or sado-masochistic characters which Fromm saw gravitating to mass movements in the past, there's also shocking ambivalence, I've known people to try to be categorical and yet effectively say nothing or simply restate competiting or contested positions.

At the end of it all perhaps people should operate within their contracts, organisations statement of purpose etc. If they cant do that in good conscience they should either aim to change those or work elsewhere but they should simply act in defiance of them. Most people dont think about these kinds of things, they just lie or covertly resist through poor practice and avoidance.

It was a joke, saying that since they are haters they deserve to be hated, but it was irony because if one hates them then one becomes a hypocrite. Thats the gist of the joke: everyone hates "racists" or "fascists" nowadays, but its ironic since when you label people in that way you become just as bad as you accuse them of being. Im saying "you" in the general sense, as in everyone who does it, not you personally btw.
