I dont see any democrat equivalent of this though.

Its the same in the UK, the right wing parties are the only ones which are still fighting the class war.

Obama got in trouble for closed-door rhetoric during his '08 campaign. The crucial thing that distinguishes the two incidences in my mind is that despite what he said, Obama at no point implied that the people he was discussing were in any way irrelavent.

Anyways. For all that Romney's comments were stupid, I don't think that they're gonna have a material impact on the numbers. The election at this point is all about the independents, the majority of whom have already indicated that they could give a shit, probably because they feel the comments weren't really directed at them.

Yeah, that's what I was saying, its always perceived to be the "other", someone else, when things like this are said.

For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

    What liberal media?

I'm just worried about what happens when the tea party dictatorship seizes power and with it a nuclear bloudy arsenal.
