Exclamation Is personal responsiblity always a good thing?

Is personal responsibility always a good thing? Do you reach your conclusions on the basis of personal, direct experience of theorising? How do you think of this topic in relation to the other threads about jury trial and democracy?
All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.

whether or not you credit psychoanalysis itself, the fact remains that we all must, to the greatest extent possible, understand one another's minds as our own; the very survival of humanity has always depended on it. - Open Culture

i think this thread directly relates to your other thread " is democracy always a goodthing?". It seems the mass' blame the president, and then urge change and a new president. But nobody ever takes the responsibility to make change, only vote for a new guy. When the new guy does something bad, brand him something and vote for the newer guy to make the previouse stuff better. When that fails, vote for the newerer guy to make the past mistakes better. Although it seems people are taking responsibility via occupy protests these days. It's about time, because this democracy is not that, a democracy.. it is putting full responsibility into the hands of government, while the only voice/responsibility we have is to vote which color you want the temporary wallpaper in the white house.

Now i do understand that the biased mass' of sheep should not be in complete control of this titanic (lol). But we should at least have equal oppertunity for our kids to become poltics. It's not even taught in school, so we are obviously not responsible for this democracy, as always, the mass is jsut a bunch of sheep that will follow the set of ideals as closes to theirs (or as manipulated)
    1+1=3 OMFG
