Freedom is an Oxymoron, because it's definately not free. Unless your talking about complete anarchy.

I could recommend a graphic novel called Pride of Bagdad on this topic, I got it today, lots of discussion of wild vs. free, reflection on the compromises people are willing to make for safety and the promise of dying of old age, the animals get their freedom but its not what they imagined, its freedom to starve, freedom to be hunted, stalked and killed by competiting predators and finally some soldiers.

    Clever, clever narrative.
All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.
Chapter IV, p. 448. - Adam Smith, Book 3, The Wealth of Nations

whether or not you credit psychoanalysis itself, the fact remains that we all must, to the greatest extent possible, understand one another's minds as our own; the very survival of humanity has always depended on it. - Open Culture
