The thought of Mitch in that jacket is disturbing. But then come to think of it, the thought of Mitch at all is disturbing.

Not as disturbing as the thought of Mitch in nothing at all...:wtf:

Anyway as you are probably all know it seems that they will try to find fast replacement. What will probably be presented as a success in election campaigns. Therefore this can perhaps work but it can also badly backfire ("win a battle, lose the war" style).

Is this really the line of thought you want to take ?

I dont think anyone WANTS to take it, but this is 2020 that kind of horrible thought fits right in with the rest of the nightmares in Washington rn.

Susan Collins statement out:

"Given the proximity of the presidential election, however, I do not believe that the Senate should vote on the nominee prior to the election," Collins continued. "In fairness to the American people, who will either be reelecting the President or selecting a new one, the decision on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court should be made by the President who is elected on November 3rd."

What I see in the press on this side of the Atlantic is that being is such are hurry to replace someone is fundamentally disrespectful. You can say nice things but deeds always kinda weight more.

it's AT LEAST disrespectful.

Collins and Murkowski are no votes; Romney will likely vote no as well. Are there any other never-Trump Republicans in the Senate? That still leaves 50 yes votes; Pence would be the tie-breaker. With Kavanaugh, we had 1 Democrat defection. Joe Manchin (D) voted yes. He's going to face unbelievable pressure to vote "no" this time. I think we have the votes to pass this thing. McConnell needs to move asap.
