Look at the list of the top 200 films on IMDB or the most popular films and tv series. The vast majority are American made.

by Democrat hollywood!

Who made the smartphone? Look at how smartphones have shaped and changed the world.

This is a decade ago. What about NOW? Like, say, since 2016. I'll allow for some error due to America not yet being great again.

Who made the mass market personal computer? Who built the internet?

This was decades ago.

I don't know how far back you want to go with this but here's a list of some notable Americans:

Nicola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Michael Jordan, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, Bruce Lee, The Wright Brothers, Muhammad Ali, Walt Disney, Stan Lee, and Jonas Salk (polio vaccine).

I mean NOW. Most of those people are dead.

Basically, the USA has contributed more to world culture and the improvement of humanity than the rest of the world combined.

we invented writing and fire, too.

How has America been great in the last three years? The Wright Brothers and WWII were a long time ago.

So basically, any nation that hasn't changed the world in a 3 year span sucks? That's a strange way of looking at things. I look at a director like Alfred Hitchcock and he's been dead for decades, but he's still considered a great director. Van Gogh's still considered great even though he hasn't done shit in ages.

Rebuttal: blah blah freedom individualism bald eagles flags.

The biggest irony is that not understanding the environment/landscape is a shortcut to losing freedom. I didn't made that up, that is just how it is.

Here there are some struggles with this as well, but we are at least mentally ready to change paradigms if reality shows that the current stuff aren't working.

Ok, so Make America Great Again was just about people remembering the things we already did?

I'll say it again. You elected a third-rate unholy fusion of P.T. Barnum and Andrew Jackson on the belief that he would Make America Great Again. The only thing that actually accomplished proves exactly why it won't be. Ironically, the Make America Great Again guy makes it very hard to ignore the fact America is no longer great. If America had anything great about it left, Trump wouldn't be president.

Do you really think a nation with underfunded education that's obsessed with cable news and reality TV is at the top of its game?

We love to talk about our superiority to everyone else, over and over, but there is no longer anything tangible to actually base that on. We can't even win wars (in part that's probably because we have too many of them, but i digress).

Your recourse to the past says it all, really.

There's a documentary about censorship and the cancel culture called "No Safe Spaces" that I highly recommend. Conservative speakers at college campuses are routinely "disinvited" because leftists threaten violence and university administrators say they can't afford the security. Look up Ben Shapiro, Dennis Prager, and Ann Coulter's blogs/podcasts and read their thoughts on the matter.

Facebook, Google (youtube), and Twitter also use different standards in censoring political speech; I'm actually fine with this since these are private corporations, but I would like them to at least admit that they engage in political censorship/advocacy.

Of course you do. It's Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager. You should at the very least, inform people that you're pushing a highly questionable, extreme right wing propaganda documentary arm of Prager U.

Just in case anyone needs to know what Prager U actually is, that doesn't already;

PragerU - Media Bias/Fact Check

The other people you mention aren't even attempting to do anything further than push this narrative that college campuses suppress free speech. In reality, any time someone on the right has shit opinions (they're mostly shit opinions regardless) anyone that doesn't want to listen to this crap is suddenly threatening violence, suspension of civil liberties or some other ridiculous reactionary gibberish. Or screaming that their first amendment rights are being violated. On social media, in opinion pieces and editorial pages where they drone on and on and on, non-stop.

Baby steps. Dismantle the regulatory and tax nonsense that's stifling innovation and let the American people do their thing. We know what happens today when nations go socialist - just look at Venezuela or Cuba.

I'll say it again. You elected a third-rate unholy fusion of P.T. Barnum and Andrew Jackson on the belief that he would Make America Great Again.

Only if you ignore his actual accomplishments: lowest African American, Hispanic, Asian unemployment in history, wage increases, and lots and lots of manufacturing jobs created.

The only thing that actually accomplished proves exactly why it won't be. Ironically, the Make America Great Again guy makes it very hard to ignore the fact America is no longer great.

It's going to take more than 4 years to undo all the crap that Obama and the Dems did.

Do you really think a nation with underfunded education that's obsessed with cable news and reality TV is at the top of its game?

Education is not underfunded. We spend more per capita than most nations. The problem are bad schools and lack of school choice. The solution to an ignorant electorate is not to pour more money into the very system that creates these idiots.

Your recourse to the past says it all, really.

We'd be a much greater nation without stupid Democrat policies.

It's an accurate narrative. If you don't think that college campuses suppress free speech, then you need to do more reading. A bunch of comedians have stated how hard it is to do comedy on college campuses because of the PC culture. Why don't you just admit that you want to suppress speech from people you disagree with?

People telling you that your ideas suck, get the fuck out of here - isn't suppressing speech or censorship you just imagine it is. Oh and let me know when you brain surgeons come up with something more than VeNeZueLaCuBaSoCiAlIsMbAd!!! or any explanation beyond the Chávista propaganda the right wing takes at face value.

I know. I've heard horror stories about people in socialist countries not being able to by bread or toilet paper because the stores are all out. Then there are the Reports of food being left to rot while people go hungry. The evidence that socialism lacks the rational efficiency of capitalism is essentially undeniable at this point.

Only if you ignore his actual accomplishments: lowest African American, Hispanic, Asian unemployment in history, wage increases, and lots and lots of manufacturing jobs created.

Manufacturing jobs, maybe. How significant are the wage increases? And, uh, I think your claims about the lowest unemployment is out of date.
It's going to take more than 4 years to undo all the crap that Obama and the Dems did.

Well, he certainly continued Obama's policy of bailing out corporations when the perfect capitalist system falls apart.

.

Oh yeah, Betsy DeVos is doing a heckuva job, as I'm sure ceecee can tell me. I guess we don't need to fund education and defund the police after all.

Academia’s Push to Fire Even the Few Academics Who Don’t Tow the Leftist Line

A Professor Uhlig (University of Chicago) had the temerity to question the wisdom of "defunding the police".

Instead, he wrote: “We need more police, we need to pay them more, we need to train them better.” He went on to equate defunding the police with being a “flat-earthers.”

In response, prominent Democrat economists such as Paul Krugman, Obama administration chair of the Federal Reserve Janet Yellen, Justin Wolfers at the University of Michigan, and many others called for Uhlig to be fired as editor of the prestigious Journal of Political Economy. A professor that I know at the University of Michigan emailed me: “It is not just Wolfers. I have received emails from a colleague and doctoral students (past and current) urging action against Uhlig that just take for granted that disagreement with their position is beyond the pale.”

You're not allowed to dissent from the herd opinion. The Los Angeles Times refuses to publish dissenting thoughts on global warming. These are anti-American positions.

This is an example of dishonesty. You and I both know that they're doing much more than just stating "your ideas suck" and "get out of here".

lol John Lott is the president of the Crime Prevention Research Center and the author most recently of “The War on Guns. He's also the GOP's favorite academic fraud and grifter plus NRA mouthpiece.

I looked up more about this guy.

U. of C. economist facing criticism for Black Lives Matter tweets is now under review for claims of ‘discriminatory conduct’ in classroom - Chicago Tribune

Ba’s post tagged Uhlig and said, "I sat in your class in Winter 2014: (1) You talked about scheduling a class on MLK Day (2) You made fun of Dr. King and people honoring him (3) You sarcastically asked me in front of everyone whether I was offended.”

Sounds like it's less about his ideas, and more about him being kind of an asshole. Apparently the issue is discriminatory conduct, which seems to have definitely occurred.

At any rate, It looks like he hasn't been fired yet (despite what the headline of your article says) and is still under investigation.

I doubt that Krugman, Yellen, and others asked for his firing because of his past conduct.

There are tons of examples of leftists suppressing free speech. The Chik-fil-let protestors tried to get the restaurant expelled from various places. They got the Firefox CEO fired for giving a donation.

You mean it's never as simple as the right wing apologista loooooves to make it?

Sounds like what he called for was for him to get removed from his position as editor, which is not the same as him being fired from being a professor.

Paul Krugman said:
"Free speech means you have the right to say whatever you want," he wrote in a later tweet. "It doesn't mean that your expressed opinions have no bearing on whether you should be editing a flagship journal, especially if they raise doubts about your objectivity."

I don't support censorship. I know no one on the left that does.

I'm sorry, but...
