I even wondered if labelling blasts like this fireworks was some sort of code word, like they know the actor responsible, whether he is a state actor, state sponsored terrorist (arent they all?) or some kind of independently operating psychopath.

Then I remind myself that perhaps this is just attributing greater order to the course of events than is realistic or rational in a chaotic or at least complex world.

That said I do think if there was intelligence on a neglectful regime out there it would be taken advantage of for sure. I'm sure the same thing happens on a global scale as does on a local, small or personal scale when predators discover vulnerable "targets of opportunity" in the community. It has never ever been so important that people do not turn a blind eye or adjust down their expectations as it will cost them dearly. The Malthusian death dealers are running amok everywhere.

Belarus: Police arrest activists, journalists ahead of vote

Tomorrow is the big vote and I wouldn't even pretend that I want the win of opposition. In a way this article nicely shows how the guy that is in office over 1/4 of a century thinks. The main method of problem solving is arresting people (he arrested the main counter-candidate). However this approach has it's limits and in the end you can't arrest everybody. The election will almost surely be heavily rigged but that could only speed up "burning down" the house. What is perhaps the right way to end the regime in the most authoritarian country of 2020 Europe.

Belarus heads to polls to elect next president

Well, this woman has balls. That is certain.
I mean the regime will probably cheat to win but the local political climate will probably never be quite the same.

Lukashenko wins Belarus presidential vote, according to official exit poll

So he supposedly won 80% of the whole vote ? I am not sure that good amount of local people will accept this (and probably they shouldn't).
I mean if you cheat at least make it look believable.

Lukashenko, 65, is a former Soviet collective farm manager who has ruled since 1994.

Demonstrations sweep Belarus after exit poll predicts victory for Lukashenko

Yeap, this will probably get "ugly".
But on the other hand it is kinda obvious that there is no other way. After all now there is an opportunity that probably wouldn't repeat anytime soon.

India to ban imports on over 100 items of military equipment

The Defense Ministry has said the embargo will allow India to become more self-reliant in weapons manufacturing.

Leaderless protests contest Lukashenko’s grip on Belarus

It seems that it isn't really over. This probably wouldn't work but it seems that plenty of young are quite into "change". Therefore they might still "spill the glass" if enough people joins them.

French PM sounds alarm on coronavirus, announces new measures

But realistically the whole Europe should do something about this. Almost everywhere the numbers are rising and often completely pointlessly.
