Democrats have been campaigning on "At least we are not Trump", and I do not see them winning against him in 2020.

He gots some considerable achievements from my perspective. They cannot run the same tactics as 2016 with the "He is a racist, sexist, fascist" claims either. People are sick of that. The Dems will only vote for an articulate, optimist who can not only deal with Trump's memeing, but also dish it out. That is no easy feat, and I don't think the Dems are capable of even faking it. It will be a bad year for Democrats, and if Hillary runs you might as well quit. I have my money on Beto and or Warren being front runners otherwise.

Warren has already proved she easily takes Trump's bait and comes out looking worse. She would not be able to play his games, but I wouldn't be surprised if she gets the nomination.

I think their arrogance of feeling superior to Trump in every way will result in them once again, underestimating the competition and going all in with a half-baked candidate like Warren. Beto is a better bet, but like I said earlier. They can't run on what they did last time. They have nothing to campaign on l, unless they decide to cater to the Republicans with Anti-immigration. I believe I remember Clinton talking about that recently.

Especially considering a lot of traditionally Democratic wedge issues like marijuana legalization are in danger of being picked up as Republican causes.

I was just thinking about how the Republican party is being filled with moderates and Libertarians. I think some moderate Dems also feel disenfranchized with the trend of Democratic socialism as well.

Something to consider: Kasich could turn Democrat and run against Trump. There are a handful of Republicans like Paul Ryan/Marco Rubio/Flake/Corker who've been critical of Trump; any or all could turn Democrat.
Oh no!!! I've lost my sense of humor today; let's hope it returns soon.

My only grievance with trying to copy what the republicans did in 2016 is that Nancy and Chuck would be immediately disqualified as potential candidates, and I wish one of them would run.
