What do you think was the main or new message of the ministry of Jesus? Or do you think there was anything new particularly?

My impression is that it was a big reaction to the legalism that had overtaken Judaism in his day, which was concerned with observing a huge list of rules about what to eat, what to wear, when to do what, etc. Many people had lost sight of the point of it all. A big part of Jesus' mission was to remind them of that, that the heart of the law was love, for God and for others. To quote from the Bible (Galatians 5:14), "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
