Ends and Means

I'll admit, I can't. No one specific. But I did give some parameters: exceptional talent or giftedness as a mark for self-respect. Failing that, accomplishment by other means.

Actually self respect is for everyone because if we treat ourselves as ends not means, we have self respect. And the converse is true: if we treat ourselves as means not ends we have no self respect.

And if we treat ourselves as means not ends, we are reifying ourselves, turning ourselves into objects, and objects have no self respect.

And if we treat ourselves as ends not means we are realising our full stature and so naturally feel self respect.

Unfortunately most of modern society treats us as objects, as things, and we internalise this and come to believe we are objects.

And so we have cults like mbti teaching us how to be better objects for one another.

I perceive an inconsistent style of judgement in this fashion of discourse.

The Kantian rule is profound, and is also probably the best description of what should be extended as the charity freely awarded to all others, encapsulated in the Christian doctrine: "love thy neighbour as thyself."

Without the externalized parity endowed from an established sense of self-respect (its essential nature already depicted for us by the Kantian encapsulation), it is not possible to be acting without submission to an agency, for the appearances borne of an object's measure. Because solipsism just crafts you into the 'means' and 'end' simultaneously: in a mutually voidable sense.

Without offering that same capacity of charity to the 'other actors/thinkers', we are left in a pernicious kind of relativism— hoping for some ordained measure of self-respecting pursuit to precipitate itself— against an impossible burden left for anyone to 'themselves' translate for the rest of us through a substantiation of self-respecting pursuit, to persuade any conceivable temperament in yourself or any other, while similarly making charges of cultism unassailable against temperaments of a skeptical outlook that plead to carry none of the weight for matters that would also place the burden of proof upon itself. Intellectual cowardice cannot claim superiority by lack of engagement,- which only itself will cite as a valid intellectual-interface because of taking its solipsistic style of account as its own sufficiency.

In a sense: sociological commentary that does not regard itself as being an extremely obtuse means of merely illustrating some example of making a point, is the source of this solipsistic-mindset, that is haphazardly tethered to the descriptions of table thumping issued from an internally goaded-mind rot, as I have intricately depicted in the above explanations (of the main body of this post).
