Im comfortable with it because I think meaning is created. That is a part of free will - what kind of meaning will we choose for ourselves?
Inherent meaning might mean something like pre-destination, which I disagree with. There's a permanance about "inherent" too, and I think meaning can be lost and destroyed.
I think there is right and wrong meaning and shades between, but none are inherent. We can choose to be animals or develop a higher spiritual nature. Depending on what we choose, our life can take various meaning or none at all.
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

I would be uncomfortable if I was to believe that there is no inherent meaning, luckily I can make myself comfortable by believing there is something. Both are beliefs if I am to understand it correctly.
