Perhaps, then, so-called a priori knowledge is at fault.

Or perhaps not. I wouldn't base so much on a speculative "perhaps."

This reminds me of the platypus theory, in which the very idea of a hierarchy of knowledge is dismissed simply because someone found an animal that didn't conform well with it.
