Default What do you think is the measure of a good man?

Out of pure intellectual curiosity .. what is a the measure of a good man [or gender neutral individual] to you?

I don't have a view as yet, and I'm curious.

That they conform, more or less, or aim to conform to the biophilious or productive personality typology/characterology of Erich Fromm.

At its most simple it has to begin with refraining from any an all predatory behaviour and deceitfulness, then its got to involve uncovering their own unconsicous ignorance, from which I think any and all evil is borne in the first place.
All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.

Why, there are many measurements of goodness and many measurement of manliness. They can overlap in a myriad of ways even within one man.
For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

Ah now that is a good point. I read the post as using "man" in the sense of hu"man"kind and "the measure" in terms of goodness. This is not precisely what is written. Very good highlight.
