Does anyone know of an credible afterlife research? Do you believe/disbelieve in such a thing and is it connected or unconnected to the idea or belief in a deity?

I'm intrigued at the moment in deist beliefs, some early theist ones too, which believe in a God but no after life

How would one research afterlife?
Suicide would be a good place to start.

In all seriousness, there have been studies on the subject of life after death, specifically near death experiences, brain activity post-death, chemical processes which the mind causes, what is known as a near death experience, so on, so forth.

Obviously if there were an afterlife, there would be no way to study it directly, but people that are alive today have been dead, and thus if nothing else, it's possible to analyze their experiences.

I was telling a friend who believes in reincarnation last night, "If I thought I would have to live another life, I'd kill myself right now." ;)

Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain..we can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
