Seem to be tapping the same source. It really interests me.
How can this be explained? The perrenial or transcendent nature of wisdom? Some kind of mutant memetics? Coincidence and cognitive confirmation bias? Does the explanation you employ or conclusion you reach be linked to a wider theory or a reflection of it? ie, "I am a (belief) therefore I think that (belief) is the most appropriate explanation".
I wonder because today I bought a book by a monk on meditation and prayer, they talk a lot about being, as opposed to doing or having, some how it is just like Erich Fromm's writing when one is a theist, the other an atheist (albeit spiritual or tradition loving one) the one, the monk, didnt and doesnt know about the other, couldnt know about the other but they seem to be tapping the same sources of thinking.
