would these hypothetical situations be considered rape?

1) you hypnotize someone into having sex with you
During hypnosis you are fully aware of your choices and you have your will to choose what you wish.
2) you get someone drunk so that you can manipulate them to have sex with you
Depends on the person. If you got your wife drunk and manipulated her to have sex with you would she consider it rape in the morning?
3) you have sex with someone controversially younger than you, but they consent
Trophy wives? No it's not rape.
4) you manipulate someone into having sex with you when you know they'll regret it later.
If they consent it is not rape. Future is impossible to know so there is always the possibility they will not regret it. We cannot define rape upon lower possibilites of an event.
5) you threaten to withdraw support for an individual if they don't have sex with you (not support that they need, like a job, money for living expenses or healthcare, but some other type of support that they can survive without)
No it's not rape. The benefit is all on the person therefore the person has the right not to give it at anytime anyway.
6) you threaten to withdraw support that the individual does need (such as those listed above)
Again, it's all on the person so he has the right to take it away when he wishes. It's not rape. If he took it away without the sex what would it be considered as? Just cruel really. No crime.
7) you make your spouse have sex with you after they have been witholding it from you
Depends on what you mean by 'make'.
8) someone has consented to have sex with you. you're in the middle of things and they say "stop!" and you don't
Ah well, ever see in movies where a phone call happens during the act and the woman wishes not to stop but the man wishes to, for such a phone call and so the woman forces him not to and they go on for a bit more before the man forces against her in the end? Is that rape?

Obviously: 1, 6, 7, 8.

2: Unless you force them to get drunk, they are responsible for their own decisions.

- sort of, because they technically haven't given consent
- yes/same as above really
- no but if they're under 16 it can be illegal
- depends is person allowed them to or not. I think this is more like manipulation than rape though.
- this depends on the situation. It seems more like bribery and threat. It is impossible to know because this is only the situation it describes.
- more like a threat but it could go under rape and sexual harassment
- ?
- yes

1) you hypnotize someone into having sex with you
Is hypnotization a thing? I don't know enough about it to give an educated answer.

2) you get someone drunk so that you can manipulate them to have sex with you
Yeah, that's pretty shitty.

3) you have sex with someone controversially younger than you, but they consent
Unless they're a minor, no.

4) you manipulate someone into having sex with you when you know they'll regret it later.
If they consent, then no; but it's still a pretty shitty thing to do.

5) you threaten to withdraw support for an individual if they don't have sex with you (not support that they need, like a job, money for living expenses or healthcare, but some other type of support that they can survive without)
No but yes; that's just wrong.

6) you threaten to withdraw support that the individual does need (such as those listed above)
Yes.

7) you make your spouse have sex with you after they have been witholding it from you
Yes, and I don't see why some people don't agree. Just because you're married doesn't mean you're entitled.

8) someone has consented to have sex with you. you're in the middle of things and they say "stop!" and you don't
Yes.

I think the question "Is it rape" can be answered in the same way as the question "Is it racist".

If you have to ask that question in the first place, then you probably don't have the judgement to answer it. So just accept that the answer is always yes.

I think all except 3 would be pretty bad, but 3 would really depend. If they person is 12 and has a mental handicap, then yes. If the person is in their older teens to adulthood and they are intelligent enough to decide for themselves, then no. And no I did not make this analysis in regards to any ageist law.

I agree that if you are uncertain about whether or not something is rape, then it's rape. Because what you are really uncertain about is whether or not you have consent. If you don't know if you have it, you don't have it. The absence of a no is not a yes.
