I say "Philosophy" because of one distinction that I draw between the two subjects:
Much of Psychology is merely useful, but not able to be falsified. Theories of the mind can spring up from nowhere really, and truth will not always trump usefulness in Psychology.

if a mathematical theory of the mind were possible would science, psychology, and philosophy become one? i wish i could get into philosophy but i always end up reading psychology. i love to read about the mind-body problem.
