I didn't have much trouble in Russia.

Well... as long as I told them I was French, I hadn't any too.

But as soon you try to make enquiries about Jews, things might get worse more rapidly than you might expect...
I remember an anecdote at a bar: the moment "they" learned my mother was Jewish, prices doubled immediately for me, because "Jews are supposed to be rich and control the world".

It's not even a joke. "They" were dead serious about it.

The far right is extremely popular in Russia, more than in any other European country. And it's a violent, extremely xenophobic far right, rather skinhead-like.
