Surfing around, I found this.

Bullshit or not bullshit? I'd like to hear people's opinions.

Here's mine as well as some quotes from the site:

Looks at the crisis of life-dominating sins (addictions); presents a biblical view of sin; offers help for working with eating disorders, drugs, and alcohol. Also covers the crisis of immorality; teaches a biblical view of sex; gives help for dealing with pornography, homosexuality, adultery, etc.

^This was under "Crisis Counseling". So now pornography's a crisis. Good to know.

Rebecca said she wants students to know what’s going on in the community and not just when it comes to the “easy” issues, such as abortion and homosexuality.

“As Christians we need to know where we stand on issues like social security, health care, etc.,” Rebecca said. “What do we think? What is the Republican stand? What as Christians should we believe?

“People will get to see, ‘Hey there are two sides to this issue, and I can make an informed, educated decision on where I stand.’”

Students need to be aware of what goes on in the community so they can eventually teach their children how to be responsible citizens, she said.

Discussion and debate are welcome at the meetings, and the students hope to have many guest speakers. Mrs. Lisa Van Riper, a professor of political science at North Greenville College, recently spoke at a meeting. Mrs. Van Riper, a former liberal, told the audience about how politics actually brought her back to the Lord, and she encouraged students to fight for conservative values.

Let's teach the students both sides! The christian's side and the conservative's side! Wait...what's a dem-o-craat?

Loyalty to Christ results in separated living. Dishonesty, lewdness, sensual behavior, adultery, homosexuality, sexual perversion of any kind, pornography, illegal use of drugs, and drunkenness all are clearly condemned by God’s Word and prohibited here. Further, we believe that biblical principles preclude gambling, dancing, and the beverage use of alcohol

Don't dance, people - it's a sin!

Bullshit.

If we did not have lewdness/sensual behavior/etc, we wouldn't have a race for one thing.

This is ridiculous. Who believes this stuff?

While I agree that this is ridiculous, people know what they're getting into when they sign up for these colleges. Even though the point of the university experience is to learn about all sides of issues, and this only presents one, that's why many people go here. Narrow-minded? Sure. Agreed. But it's done intentionally.

Also, with regard to the pornography part, you have to understand why it gets under the skin of many Christians: sex, to some sects, is considered sacred. It's not bad, it's sacred. Pornography can be seen as a sin or crisis because it trivializes an act that they hold holy and commercializes it. You can laugh at that if you want, but respect it the same way you would someone abstaining from hamburgers because they find cows sacred. I get that it's highly countercultural, and counterbiological, but it's a belief that deserves respect.

Sorry, I'm probably taking this too seriously, but I wanted to address that.

Haha. No one's perfect. Live and let live. I actually prefer for these religious educational institutes to teach their flocks of young sheep as little as possible. Keep it dumb. Let that species get super-retarded and die off as a population. Teach them to protest abortion by jumping en mass off of high bridges and tying themselves to railroad tracks.

I like the idea that in this vicious age of sin and secularism, people from all over the world can come together to live a life of contemplation, worship and spiritual growth in a single place.

Makes airstikes much more efficient

Who are we to say that certain people's outlooks on life, their values, and their holy beliefs are bullshit?

It's just a different way of thinking.

Ruling it off as bullshit is an act of narrow mindedness.

I know - I'm talking about the part with them forcing their beliefs on their students, who are sometimes railroaded in to going.

Yeah, but I need something to laugh at! ^^
The only part that angers me is some teenagers getting railroaded in to going there, because of their parent's beliefs.

Oh, gotcha.

As for that part, I think it's BS. I'm not going to try to sound philosophical or anything..so I can easily say that that is total bull shit.

You make a very good point, so don't take this personally, but comparing to sex to cows made me laugh a little bit. :moodeath:

Oh, and from what I understand BJ University (ha ha ha) isn't actually a real, accredited uni. I could be wrong, but last I heard they weren't authentic academia.

I had to go to some Christian bible camp and got kicked out for "being offensive"/=

Conversation:
Me to other teenager: What's with all the Twihards? I like Harry Potter better.
Director: Hey - your parents shouldn't let you read that. It's bad for your soul. We don't talk about that here.
Me: Have you even read the books?
Director: Of course not.
Me: Then don't go around being a dick.

Yeah, I felt bad after^^.

Hope it wasn't targeted at me :)
As it just so happens, I'm currently writing on a post for another forum about a thread titled 'The Creationism vs. Evolution Debate'.
If anyone's interested I can post it here once it's finished (just to show you I wasn't serious in the above post :)). It's a fairly long post though, but I was expressing some thoughts on scripture-based religion in general.
