Basically title, but wondering about justifications. My views have changed as I've gotten olden and I'm curious about other people.

A lot of different psychoanalytical schools of thought, socialism, individualism, libertarianism/self-government and greek and roman philosophy.

I'm also a practicing RC.

I also think that Bruce Lee's philosophy or sayings too, the aspects of reinvention, flexibility and adaptation. I know that there's a lot of criticism of Lee or his family's marketing of the legacy suggesting it was all just cliches or aphorism used in a cynical sales and marketing fashion to a culture which was totally unfamiliar with its novelty value but I dont buy that really. I like the philosophies of Confucian and Taoist thought which I think informed some of Lee's thinking. They are opposites but each seems really incomplete to me without the other.

The best approach is the one that works for you but should include the ability to cope in society and being capable of supporting yourself.

Enough skepticism and self interest to keep yourself safe. Engage all else with optimistic idealism. Train yourself in dedication and self discipline, learn to love failure, and you will evolve radically.

Not worrying about what "the best" way to live life is and just live it...

Really depends on the individual and their experience and situation.

Like Yuu said, it depends on the person. There's no one best approach.

For myself, trying to have integrity, be a source of good in the world, help my friends and loved ones, enjoy my life, try to grow into a healthier version of myself, keep learning, not take what I have for granted, live in a way that allows me to respect myself.

For the most part this is totally circumstantial. Especially depending on which part of the world you are leaving in.

The only common bottom line are perhaps self-improvement, training judgement so that you are good at it, being fair and constructive if possible ... etc.

at this point I think the best approach to life is to be happy doing your own thing and fuck the rest.
