    I think 172 would be the mid point if it was on a scale of 0 to 345, but you have to add 35 since the 'zero' point is 35. Thus midpoint on this scale is 207.5.

    If it was 0-380, then 0-190 would be type B, and 191-380 would be type A. 35 being the zero, just means less wiggle room.
