Once upon a time there was this styles of thinking system known - interestingly enough - as Styles of Thinking, consisting of 5 thinking styles, with this big clunky test known as the InQ found here:

Thinking Styles

But then there came along a bigger, better, stronger, faster system of thinking styles known as The Holland Code. The test is found here:

Holland Code Quiz

My score on the Styles of Thinking test was Idealist-Analyst. My score on the Holland Code is

Investigative: 6
Conventional: 5
Social: 3
Artistic: 1
Enterprising: 0
Realistic: 0

Investigative in the Holland Code aligns with Analyst in Styles of Thinking, and Social in the Holland Code aligns with Idealist in Styles of Thinking.

Conventional, a category which I always knew was lacking from the Styles of Thinking, comes out second with me. So instead of being an Idealist-Analyst in the Styles of Thinking, I am now Investigative (i.e., Analyst)-Conventional.

The respective categories in the two systems line up like this:

Styles of thinking - Holland Code
Realist - Realistic
Analyst - Investigative
Pragmatist - Enterprising
Idealist - Social
Synthesist - Artistic
(none) - Conventional

Fun and very easy. My results...

Your results for the Holland Code Quiz are as follows:

Realistic: 9
Investigative: 11 *highest
Artistic: 8
Social: 9
Enterprising: 7
Conventional: 6 *lowest

Not sure what that means, but I feel good about it.

Seems accurate. I always get high Artistic/Investigative/ Enterprising and very low realistic and conventional score from my 1st Holland Score (in my 18ies).

Interestingly, Pragmatist (66) is my strongest score on the Styles of Thinking, followed by Synthesist and Analyst (tied at 57)...
...but under the Holland Code, Enterprising (1!) is my lowest, with Investigative (12) and Social (4) as my highest job personalities. (Artistic and Conventional (tied at 3) are my third highest.)
My code is therefore ISA or ISC, but there are no career options for ISCs.

While a healthy dose of pragmatism certainly would help in an enterprising environment, I think 'enterprising' is also strongly marked by a competitive, power-based focus - my aversion to the latter completely squashes any satisfaction I would get from going into any area related to enterprising.

Styles of Thinking doesn't use the 3-letter code system. In that system, your score is just Synthesist.
Your Holland Code score is ARI.

I take that back, kinda. I don't think you posted a Holland Code test score.

Well, per the second test you posted, my Holland Code score is SRE? And wait, which part are you taking back?

 You linked two tests in the OP and I took them both. The one you linked me just now, which is also in the OP, is the one where I got SRE.

All right then. Let's make it less confusing? You said ARI is your Styles of Thinking result. What does ARI stand for? Analyst-Realist-Idealist or Artistic-Realistic-Investigative?

I converted the results based on your OP, so Artistic-Realistic-Investigative. My confusion was mostly that my two test results were so different from one another. Then again, as you can see from my Styles of Thinking result, I scored VERY closely on three of the five.

The Styles of Thinking result throws out all scores below 60. But the OP was not intended to act as a converting tool.
