I am planning to do an extensive statistics project in which I get a random sample of Duke students and have them take a Meyers-Briggs test along with the survey (where they answer questions such as.. are you in a fraternity? what's your gender? where are your from?) and I'm going to compare results and see what comes up. I'm just hoping for a high response rate.. lol.

Which free MBTI test would you recommend?

If you'd have asked me a decade ago, I could've given you a rundown on all the popular tests. I don't take them anymore, so I'm not the man with the data.

If you don't find a good one, I could perhaps write a very short (12 questions probably) test for you. I wrote one like that circa 2000 which worked very well in its limited use, but I no longer have it.

Contact the publisher of the real MBTI. CPP, Inc. - Leaders in Workforce Development. If your research design is solid they do provide free product to researchers. Sometimes. And they can be done online...

I got:

Your TMPI answers suggest that your type preference is:

ESFP

E 8 I 6
S 9 N 5
T 2 F 12
P 12 J 2

Like all of these tests, the results are just a guideline to point you in the right direction. It is up to the individual to make the final decision as to which type best fits them.

Facebook actually has a test that's no more than 20 questions and seems pretty accurate.

In lieu of the actual MBTI, the best free online test is the Thomson-Maidenbaum Personality Inventory (TMPI), which can be found here:

Thomson-Maidenbaum Personality Inventory

I liked that test. Somewhat different. I got :

E 9 I 5
S 3 N 11
T 4 F 10
P 13 J 1

But this....

I don't think I could choose between these.

... is true for me also. The one question I really took a long time to answer. Ultimately I said I was more interested in how people think because, how they feel, I already know. But I'm pretty sure that the ENFP answer would be "how they feel".

Good thing you have a X in your type

I always struggle with what's more important justice or mercy.

LOL

Your TMPI answers suggest that your type preference is:

INXP

E 2 I 12
S 3 N 11
T 7 F 7
P 8 J 6

I've never actually gotten X before. I like this test.
