dude... don't make me explain this to you A... after all, I'm a dumb (and buzzed) Sensor :newwink:

You never have a dominant or auxillary Si in any P type, just as you never have a dominant or auxilary Ni in any P... the introverted perceiving functions are associated with judging just as the extroverted perceiving functions are a hallmark of a P type.... generally speaking, according to some theories, it's easier to develop some of our shadow functions than it is to develop our tertiary or inferior functions (note my extra special Ne and Te, for example... :holy:)

Therefore, that someone wouldn't have as well developed of a tertiary or inferior as they would some of their shadow functions isn't all so shocking :)

Tougher life experiences that cause a person to function in their shadow more often, for instance, could assist in the development of one's shadow functions, for instance, as they wouldn't do for the tertiary or inferior

In otherwords, it would be almost more accurate, theoretically, for some to develop more in the order of 12567834 or so instead of the traditional linear manner or so...

or you could look up some of wildcats old threads on type theory puzzles for fun... that's always a fun Ne exercize... if you're up for the challenge

Hehehe, that response smells too strongly of Ne - are you sure you aren't an ENTP/ENFP in disguise :jew:

I'm sure... it smells strongly of bloody marys

When I'm drunk, and ONLY when I'm drunk, it starts seeming like a good idea to post in the biased ranting forum politics and current events subforum ;) The rest of the time I know better than to think that people are going to want to listen to nuanced, balanced, perspectives on complex issues when they have their own axes to grind over them and really just want someone with opposing views who will give them a good argument.

Anways, back on topic. I think we need to be asking ourselves here whether the four letter system is descriptive, or predictive/normative. I would take it as being primarily the former, and anyone who doesn't even understand the significance of the question could probably do with looking at what is actually being described more carefully. :whistling:

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ENFP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation’s dynamics.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: INFP, or ENTJ

huh, interesting :popc1:

Fi, Ne, Ti, Ni, Te, Fe, Si, Se. Hmm, never thought Ti would be so high up there.

Stronger Si, Fi,Se,Fe than earlier results. Weaker Ne,Ni,Te. Same Ti. I still stand by the fact that the questions for Fi are true for Ti in many cases.

43. Continually examine if choices harmonize with important beliefs.
important belief is logical consistency

36. Evaluate what is worth believing in and most important to who you really are inside.
Evaluating what is worth believing in seems oddly similar to science as a whole.

25. Always remain true to what you want for yourself or others.
logical consistency, yet again.

19. Freely enjoy doing what you want for your own personal happiness.
Wondering what causes people to say no to this. Simply not knowing what will make you happy won't cause a no response.

13. Remain in touch with what you want for yourself, what motivates you, and what is good.
logical consistency, again.

8. Feel strongly that something is good or bad.
Good and bad are subjective to the point this can be made true for every single person who has ever made a decision.

Wondering what causes people to say no to this. Simply not knowing what will make you happy won't cause a no response.
A number of things could cause it. You could feel bound by duty, or to what makes others happy, or simply not feel deserving of happiness.

Wouldn't doing something for duty or to make others happy make you happy as a result?

What makes you happy is changeable but it seems almost dangerous for a person to reach a point where their actions are not to bring about happiness in some form. That sounds like very deep depression.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ESTP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Extraverted Sensing (Se): Immersing in the present context. Responding naturally to everything tangible you detect through your senses. Checking with what your gut instincts say. Testing limits and take risks for big rewards.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Gaining leverage (influence) using a framework. Detaching to study a situation from different angles and fit it to a theory, framework or principle. Checking for accuracy. Using leverage to solve the problem.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ISTP, or ENTP

If these results are different from what you know of yourself, you might consider why your developmental pattern does not align with your expectation. You might also consider exploring this result as a possible better fit.

The Four Temperaments
Corresponding best-fit temperaments based on your profile: Improviser; secondly Theorist; then Catalyst; and lastly, Stabilizer.

Ti is higher than Se, doesn't that make me ISTP?
