I got 27 percent but apparently that still falls under highly empathetic and watch out for creeps. I am guessing my spontaneity or ability to take risks made up my score.

Psychopath Night test and game- Channel 4

I looked at the game and was horrified by the psychopathic score of Charles Dickens. I definitely could see Oscar Wilde being exceptionally high on narcissism, but the Charles Dickens thing is creepy.

YOUR SCORE 48%

Though your conscience is in the right place you also have a pragmatic streak and generally aren’t afraid to do your own dirty work! You’re no shrinking violet - but no daredevil either. You generally have little trouble seeing things from another person’s perspective but, at the same time, are no pushover. ‘Everything in moderation – including moderation’ might sum up your approach to life.

Their average scores for women were at 40%. Men were higher (I think 50-52%?) I was a 38%.

Yeah. The questions were pretty thin, there were only ten, and little room for nuance in the answers. They admit it's not a validated test.

42% i don't agree with it, but that's ok but if it was over 50 i might murder your family for money and not feel guilty. now i'd feel too guilty to do that so your family is safe, thank you

And that makes me 33% psychotic... why, exactly?

I do find it amusing that the people who listed the Financial Times as their favorite news source were the ones who had the highest scores... by quite a large margin.

Psychopathic, not psychotic. Psychopaths have low empathy, high narcissism, poor self control and a high willingness to exploit others, as well as an unusual detached level of emotion (shallow effect, the cool head under pressure). Psychopaths are commonly found in politics, big business, and the military, not just in prisons.

In military studies they temporarily make perfect soldiers but ultimately self destruct. It also explains the evil CEO and politician who doesn't mean what he says. The accompanying game indicated Hitler had high narcissism and low empathy. They can be dangerous, but I think in some cases arent, they're just kind of heartless assholes.

Of course they have to say that, it's a self test and the guy who created it is a licensed therapist who could lose his license for irresponsible diagnosis. He is an expert on psychopaths though, supposedly. No internet test is ever a validated test.

You might do well in the helping professions, I mean like medicine or teaching, though. My friend who is a therapist only got 6%!!!! She's an NFJ, though. Very high empathy, very low risk taking, planful, others focused...

Marmotini Thank you; I meant to type "psychopathic", but either my brain or my fingers had other plans. I'm having one of those days.

Still, I don't see how not being a pushover makes you even slightly psychopathic. There's nothing wrong with having a modicum of self-respect. I would say it's actually a healthier alternative to being a human doormat.

I don't think the questions were about being a pushover or not though, the empathy questions were things like sensitivity to animal suffering, cheating on one's partner if they didn't get caught (read:punished), and I would step on others to get what I want....narcissistic questions were like I can convince anyone of anything. None of those things has to do with healthy boundaries and self respect. I mean the reason Winston Churchill was so high was because he was willing to face danger and could keep a cool head, not because he was unempathetic, so I doubt very seriously he'd be pegged as a real psychopath. Hitler, probably yes, and the Charles Dickens thing really shocked me.

Mild traits of narcissism can help performers (like Freddy Mercury) and mild traits of shallow effect probably can help police officers and surgeons.

I don't necessarily think those people are full blown psychopaths though. I also don't think he suggested that anyone under 50 percent qualified in any way.

If you go to his website, it's kind of sickening. For example one blurb has a judge saying he does not care if he reduced a rape victim to tears, because that's his job, and he'll still go out to dinner with his wife and feel nothing, even if he ruined the woman's life. Psychopaths are scary, because when they aren't intellectually or socially challenged, they seek positions of power. Psychopaths are a good enough reason to hate both anarcho- capitalism and socialism, because they both allow too much room for psychopathic power grasping.

Ah, gotcha. Thankfully, I have no desire to do any of those things. I'm not a huge fan of people in general, but my morality would never allow me to crush another human life in order to get what I want. (My conscience is a bitch that way.) And I love animals; in fact, I agree with April from Parks and Recreation, who said that animals "should be rewarded for not being people."

In short, I may seem scary, but I'm harmless. I suspect that my 33% can mostly be attributed to my inordinate fondness for roller coasters.

I have no idea how I scored this high.
