I think I took this a couple of years ago but I took it again.

I got Impressionism for art, which honestly annoys me, because though I do like Impressionism somewhat, when I actually look at art in a museum I actually prefer either very realistic or detailed art, or photography, furnishings and architecture. The main findings of this experiment were that extraverts preferred abstract and cubist art relative to more representational forms like Impressionism and Japanese art. There are theories of extraversion that suggest introverts crave less external stimulation than extraverts, and these results back up theories of this type. It's likely that, for many people, more modern paintings tend to have a higher visual impact than traditional forms or art, which are more widely accepted as the norm. Of course, the impact a piece of art has on an individual can never be predicted.

The opposite was true for agreeableness. Interesting how I got abstract art instead of impressionism like I normally do. Had they included Romanticism in the art samples, I would have gotten that instead. Personality results look pretty accurate.

Interesting. My favorites (of what were there) were Impressionist and Japanese.

However, I still think they should have thrown in some Baroque or Neoclassicism or SOMETHING. I much prefer those detailed paintings with lots of rich color or contrast, and interesting scenes. Yet then I am a pretty big fan of the Impressionist Degas because of his dancers.

The main findings of this experiment were that extraverts preferred abstract and cubist art relative to more representational forms like Impressionism and Japanese art. There are theories of extraversion that suggest introverts crave less external stimulation than extraverts, and these results back up theories of this type. It's likely that, for many people, more modern paintings tend to have a higher visual impact than traditional forms or art, which are more widely accepted as the norm. Of course, the impact a piece of art has on an individual can never be predicted.

How interesting, this confirms my suspicion that I am at least very extraverted in my artistic tastes. I bore quickly of paintings with less of a bold impact, and similarly with music that is more low-key as well. A lot of this is showing through in the "Type Me By Collage" thread as well....
