The Morality Test

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH MINE. It leaned toward politically liberal, slightly toward socially liberal...then it said overall very conservative.

I was like...um...what?

I wanted to capture the picture and post it, but it would be too much trouble, it wouldn't just let me copy image...but yeah my political bar was moderately in the liberal hemisphere, my social bar was mildly center-left...and my last bar was almost completely conservative.

It's an online test. There are many possible reasons the results could be skewed, including bugs in the software.

It told me I was very politically conservative, but overall liberal.

My guess is that the social liberal scale is a bigger component (or has a smaller standard deviation for answers).

I'm just wondering if the test is biased toward certain questions, because many of my answers were actually in between...like I don't think divorce is always right or always wrong. It should exist, but it happens far too often, for example. I also answered in between that some things are a mixture of genes and environment. So my answer, overall, REALLY should have been more moderate ...and funnily enough, I came out about center-left on social morality, just a hair more liberal.

But I did answer I think more liberal questions than conservative ones, though my opinions on the death penalty, for example, would be viewed as more conservative.

It just doesn't make any sense at all that I was politically moderately liberal (but definitely liberal) and socially I was center-left (but still slightly left)...and very conservative?

It made me think there's either a bug in the test (especially in context of what the other poster mentioned) or some of the questions were loaded and biased by a person with a very particular world view rather than a neutral scientist.

Another possibility: "overall conservative" may mean in terms of the world, not the U.S....maybe it means I'm an American liberal but overall conservative from a European standpoint? Is that possible for the "overall" option?

Your guess is as good as mine. I didn't make the test. There could be a bias of people taking the test.

"You tend to hold progressive/liberal values, but are more traditional on some aspects.
When it comes to social morals, you feel that society's current laws need to be more liberal and flexibile across the board.
You believe that the government's current positions are generally acceptable, but you would prefer it to change several of its policies and practices."

I'm in the anarcho-socialist category on the political compass, so a little hard to generalize. I think a lot of things should change, but it's not up to the governemnt to make it happen; the people need to empower themselves and each other, and cooperate.

"You prefer traditional and familiar experiences." I don't really think so; I consider myself adventurous and I like to experience new things. Makes life interesting.
"You tend to do things somewhat haphazardly." More like I'm conscientious about some things and not others. And ADD. And have trouble with time management.
"You are neither particularly social or reserved." True.
"You find it easy to criticize others." Yes, but that doesn't mean I do it all the time. It said I'm disagreeable, but I don't think I am.
"You probably remain calm, even in tense situations." I try to.
