Similar Minds Cognitive Functions Test

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but Similar Minds now has a two-part JCF test in beta. You can take it here.

I didn't like the questions, but that's hardly new. I mean, who would click "superficial" when given the choice between "authentic" and "superficial?" That's just ridiculous. And it also told me I was an ENFP which is just blatantly wrong. But yeah. ANYWAY.

---
These are my results.

Extroversion (48%) / Introversion (46%)
Sensation (32%) / Intuition (74%)
Thinking (41%) / Feeling (65%)

Te (Extroverted Thinking) (46%)
your valuation of / adherence to logic of external systems / hierarchies / methods

Ti (Introverted Thinking) (39%)
your valuation of / adherence to your own internally devised logic/rational

Ne (Extroverted Intuition) (65%)
your valuation of / tendency towards free association and creating with external stimuli

Ni (Introverted Intuition) (50%)
your valuation of / tendency towards internal/original free association and creativity

Se (Extroverted Sensing) (35%)
your valuation of / tendency to fully experience the world unfiltered, in the moment

Si (Introverted Sensing) (40%)

Fe (Extroverted Feeling) (41%)
your valuation of / adherence to external morals, ethics, traditions, customs, groups

Fi (Introverted Feeling) (61%)
your valuation of / adherence to the sanctity of your own feelings / ideals / sentiment

Based on your results your type is likely - ENFP

I mean, who would click "superficial" when given the choice between "authentic" and "superficial?"

People who are honest with themselves?

Anyone with a subscription to Us magazine? Anyone who judges anything by appearance or it's cool factor within the context of what's commonly cool/acceptable by most.. or even the culture at large? There are more people like this than not.

edit: I admit, it could be worded better. In a way that tricks people that makes think them twice. Heh.. It's probably instinct to choose "authentic".

I like this test though because it makes good use of external/internal validation and checks. I think it's essential in Jung's writings, but often lost in MBTI discussion (Socionics makes good use of it though).

Yes, but this question is particularly contingent on honesty considering the fact that one of the options is unequivocally positive and the other one considerably more negative. And given the fact that the concept of authenticity (but not the practice, by any means) is externally valued, wouldn't some superficial people click it anyway?

I edited my post, but yeah.. you make a good point. Maybe you should make a suggestion to the test writer.

I'm both shocked and unshocked at my closeness to being INTJ :ninja:

I didn't like the questions, but that's hardly new. I mean, who would click "superficial" when given the choice between "authentic" and "superficial?" That's just ridiculous.

I'm a little bit superficial, and had to pick the middle option.

Yeah I see what you mean there though, a few of the questions need work.

Hmmm. I am noticing that the primary function for most people (so far) separates from the rest fairly well. As I've mentioned before, that is a good thing for a test aiming to sort.

Edit:Made that observation WAY too early. But I will keep it there to see how well the primary function separates.

Dang, this test says I'm balanced in T and F, which makes no sense to me. Might have to take it again when I FEEL like it. Well, on a side note, I have learned a little more about those two letterings people on this site ramble on about.

Classic Jung Test Results

All the other Jung tests on this site are designed to emulate the results of the Myers Briggs test/system. While certainly the most common/popular test system based on Carl Jung's ideas, the Myers Briggs is just one interpretation/adaptation of Jung's Personality Type theory. It certainly has it's own utility (as does any personality system with enough resources and explanatory utility). However, the Myers Briggs test is not entirely faithful to Jung's ideas nor is its design entirely scientific/logical. In any case, this particular test attempts a more faithful and exact adaptation of Jung's ideas (which have their own limitations as well). Don't be surprised if your results are different, this is a different methodology (as such, the Jung type descriptions on this site and others probably won't fit the type listed below as they are based on the Myers Briggs adaptation).

Your results:

Extroversion (49%) / Introversion (50%)

Sensation (33%) / Intuition (54%)

Thinking (79%) / Feeling (39%)

Te (Extroverted Thinking) (63%)

Ti (Introverted Thinking) (68%)

Ne (Extroverted Intuition) (55%)
