My Natural and Adaptive are pretty much the same (strength/priority-wise), which I find interesting. (Also find interesting that Adaptive is weaker on all 4; seems odd to me)

Well, aside from "points issues" (i'm not sure how the test is scored, and you'd think if something went down, something else would go up to balance that), to me, that seems to say that you're pretty much comfortable being yourself even in situations where you're unsure or feeling like you're being scrutinized... just that you tend to rein things back a bit and put less of your complete self out there.

(Like turning down the dimmer switch on a light, which only changes its intensity rather than its composition.)

My results are pretty much what I expected; when I'm in unsure environments, I tend to become even more cautious and take less risks, partly to feel safer and partly to let others know I'm not irresponsible.

It's always interesting to see different categorizations on these sorts of things. I particularly thought that the values portion was pretty accurate. A bit less so on the DISC portion, particularly in equating being "cautious" with "adhering to rules set by those in authority -- likes things to be done by the operating manual"... in actuality I make a habit of ignoring such things and hate being told what to do :D. The values portion though, captured me pretty well.

It was sort of amusing to see the diametric conclusions generated by the two reports (which the author specifically mentions may happen). This one was pretty good:

"You would prefer not to have to present presentations to large or influential groups of people."
vs.
"Many people who score like Kelric enjoy making presentations to small or large groups. Explore this possibility."

The latter's more accurate (came from the Values assessment).

Anyway, interesting. Thanks Jaguar.

The adaptive score total is lower for everyone that took the test. You seem more balanced in the way the individual numbers went down.

I took DISC quite a number of years ago and the general pattern of the results haven't changed much. At that time, there were three "graphs" that were provided:
- Behavior Expected By Others
- Instinctive Response Under Pressure
- Self Perception (difference between first two)

Then, they had you match the graphs with a number of individual graphs to select a "pattern". At that time, I got "results oriented" for behavior expected by others and "creative" pattern for instinctive response to pressure and self perception. The words in this DISC detailed report sound the same as those pattern descriptions but there is more detail overall.

You would think as you get older, the two would align better like Cascadeco's.

Am I the only one unable to take this test?

When I enter the info and press start the page just refreshes, returning the blank fields.
I tried it on two browsers, with all the usual default settings enabled.

Edit: I managed to take it, but now I can't open the PDFs. I get: "We are unable to process your request. [Error: AUTH001]"

The high D and S seem to match my Supine-Choleric. IIRC, I got something similar on the other test we just did. I think D should probably be less, and the first and second points seem to be a bit exaggerated.

Hmm, interesting, there seems to be a lot more consistency between my "natural" and "adaptive" styles than most takers. Maybe this means I don't adapt very readily, or maybe that I just don't like giving a damn about what other people think! ;) Odd test though. I'm not sure whether I found it useful or not; but generally I find the behavioural tests rather inconsistent and of questionable relevance.

Average Aesthetic Is able to appreciate the benefit for balance and harmony without losing sight of the practical side of things.
Very Low Economic May try to help meet customers' needs (internal and external) before his own.
Average Individualistic Not an extremist, and able to balance the needs of both others and self.
High Political Able to accept the credit or take the blame, with 'the buck stops here' attitude.
Average Altruistic Concerned for others without giving everything away; a stabilizer.
High Regulatory Strong preference for following established systems or creating them if none present.
High Theoretical High interest level in understanding all aspects of a situation, or subject.

I'm not exactly sure why my Stability plummets when I try to adapt, but that's what they think.

Also, in general, my adaptive style has everything lower. Is that the case for everyone?

It looks like each bar is trying to measure a separate independent variable. They simply didn't label the lack of a trait. Meaning what's going up is the unlabeled lack of the trait. Same as how lower extroversion means higher lack of extroversion(introversion) rather than higher Percieving.

The difference between natural and adaptive seems rather extreme for me.

The scale seems to go from 10-99 not 0-100.
