That sounds about right - You can hang out with your friends, np, but when you get home, say something nice, help me with the dishes and let's spend the rest of the night snuggling :)

My second set of results were the most accurate. The first time I took it all the languages were balanced (except the receiving gifts one).

The older I get the more I enjoy having someone else who doesn't mind taking on some of the burden from my shoulders onto theirs and sharing the responsibility with me, even when they don't have to. I understand that for someone to "do things" for me isn't necessarily an act of love in itself I think that it's much more easy for me to fall in love with someone with qualities like that (i.e, reliability, a dutiful nature, etc). It's difficult for me sometimes to always be 100 percent dependable in terms of providing for others in a more practical sense, so I like that in a partner.

As for the Quality Time being so low, I can take it or leave it. I do want to be understood by my partner, have my voice heard, and allow him to sympathize with me on a personal level, but I don't particularly have to spend a ton of one-on-one time with him. I'm sure I could go a couple of weeks without him and not feel too deprived I hope I won't regret saying this later. I like being alone and I need the time to myself. I would, however, miss the physical contact. I miss that more than anything else when I'm separated from my partner.

It seems like I've taken this before...Deja Vu!

Percent, Language, Score
27%, Words of Affirmation, 8/12
27%, Quality Time, 8/12
0%, Receiving Gifts
20%, Acts of Service, 6/12
27%, Physical Touch, 8/12

BTW, If I remember correctly, the original book says something to the effect of everyone has ONE primary love language, and all the others pale in comparsion with regard to our level of satisfaction when others chose to show us affection in a "love language" other than that of our primary preference. I call bullshit on that.

I'm very appreciative whenever people do anything nice for me, would wager there are alot of others who fell the same way.

Thoughts?

I think people who have a certain level of mental flexibility and/or maturity are able to recognize and appreciate acts of love from others for what they are and are willing to learn and, when possible, do things that make their loved ones feel loved, even if it isn't something that comes natural to them at first. Is that kind of the same thing?

Yes. Bingo. That's it.

We all have our preferences, but we also must be realistic in not assuming everyone knows and/or is willing to cater to our preferences...

I wish my acts of service score was lower, I am a bit ashamed of that.

I wonder if some personality types are more prone to certain love languages than others. I didn't take the above test (I own the book) but I know my order is:

Acts of service
Quality Time
Gifts
Words of affirmation
Physical Touch
