    Yes, this is true.

    And it is desirable to regress in the service of the adult ego. But it is important to emphasize that it is in the service of the adult ego.

    That is, the adult ego decides when and where to become your inner child. And the adult ego decides what the inner child will do.

    And when these conditions are met, regressing to your inner child is relaxing and refreshing. Under these conditions, regressing to your inner child is as refreshing as a good night's sleep.
