Eight functions - weird test results

Reading the Distrust of Fe thread got me curious as to my own Fe / Fi so I retook the function test at Cognitive Processes. I'm wondering if anyone else ever gets wacky results when they take this test?

Code:
  (Se)  	**********************  (25.1)
average use
  (Si)  	 ************************  (27)
average use
  (Ne)  	**************************************  (41.2)
excellent use
 (Ni)  	         **********************************  (37.1)
excellent use
  (Te)  	***********************************  (38.4)
excellent use
  (Ti)  	 *****************************  (32.4)
good use
  (Fe)  	*******  (10.7)
unused
(Fi)  	         ************************  (27.9)
average use
Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INTJ

Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Intuiting (Ni): Transforming with a meta-perspective. Withdrawing from the world and focusing your mind to receive an insight or realization. Checking if synergy results. Trying out a realization to transform things.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Thinking (Te): Measuring and constructing for progress. Making decisions objectively based on evidence and measures. Checking if things function properly. Applying a procedure to control events and complete goals.

Order of preference is below, is it odd to have such equally high introverted and extraverted N and T?

Ne = 41%
Te = 38%
Ni = 37%
Ti = 32%
Fi = 27%
Si = 27%
Se = 25%
Fe = 10%

I don't think it so wacky. Mine is like that too. Another reason why I believe strict function ordering is a stupid theory.

An INTJ is NiTe. The other stuff is mostly jumbled.

My functions were scattered around:
Ti... 49.2
Ne...42.2
Ni...38
Fe...29.8
Fi...28.5
Te...21.7
Si...19.5
Se...11.5

Honestly, aside from secondary and primary, it's hard for anyone to clearly show what a particular ordering means or how it would represent itself concretely in the psyche. I only look at relative strength of scores, and see if any other scores are close to the primary and secondary.

(Plus, the notorious Forer effect... most of us know how to take these tests by now to fit with our conscious mental identity.)

I guess I best start working on some Fe, huh?

I thought of that, but I've only done this test twice, years apart.. it's not like the MBTI test - I know those questions inside out by now.

I took that when it first came out...

I'm guessing mine makes a bit more sense at least, having Ti first, Fe last, and Ne second... though the rest are somewhat jumbled

I've already taken this, but here are my most recent results:

Fe -- 39.3 (excellent)
Ti -- 38.2 (excellent)
Ne -- 36.3 (excellent)
Ni -- 33.1 (good)
Fi -- 32.8 (good)
Si -- 31.2 (good)
Te -- 24.0 (average)
Se -- 4.7 (unused)

I don't think those results are near accurate, and I also don't think their descriptions of the functions are accurate. Too weird.

There's something I'm starting to think about regarding the functions. I believe the functions exist in some level or another, but there is a difference between using the functions, which this test seems to measure, and trusting or owning the function's viewpoint, which I believe is what determines a person's type preference (since it is, after all, a preference).

An ESFJ could be extremely adept at Ti, so much that their score on a test like this would put it very close to Fe, should their life experience require them to engage it with some level of frequency. But it doesn't mean they have to adopt a mental lifestyle or way of thinking that is oriented around it; it is merely a small tool in their cognitive arsenal. It's like having someone extremely well studied in christianity, but is atheist.

When you view the functions from the standpoint of 'ownership' or preference of lifestyle, the dichotomous split between "opposite" functions makes more sense, at least to me.

The funny thing is, I know these functions do have a certain type of "lifestyle" that can be stereotypically associated to them, but I bet it's a bitch to define. I know what Ti-oriented "lifestyle" attributes can consist of (making things easier for yourself by having tools around to manipulate things, whether it's physical tools or abstract ones like books/computers/bookmarks for how to do or construct things, dictionaries, etc)

I remember mine as being roughly this the last time I took it:

Ti (excellent)
Se (good)
Ne (good)
Te(medium)
Ni (medium)
Si (poor)
Fi (terrigble)
Fe (terrible)

My Ne and Te are higher than they probably should be (for a typical ISTP). Unsure how accurate it really is though. The first time I took this, about 6 months previously, my Te and Ne were higher.

I put a lot of thought into answering the questions, more than any other online test of this nature I've taken. Nevertheless (?) I came up as a Textbook INTJ (i.e. Ni clearly dominant, strong Te, slightly weaker yet still strong Fi. The only surprise is that, evidently, my Ti is reasonably developed.)

I developed my Ti, without knowing, during my depression. But as a child I was clearly an INTJ.

Wow, I'm INTP I wasn't sure it would end up like that with the funtion order... With a better developed Fi. My Fe is quite bad, so I'm still oblivious. oh well... though actually my Ne is higher than my Ti. odd...

This is hilarious!! I've never gotten ESFP before!

I do think I my Se and Te are developing nicely. I'm crazy Fe and I have a healthy dash of Fi.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ESFP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Extraverted Sensing (Se): Immersing in the present context. Responding naturally to everything tangible you detect through your senses. Checking with what your gut instincts say. Testing limits and take risks for big rewards.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ISFP, or ENFP

The results are very weird indeed. Mine are like that:
extraverted Sensing (Se) *********** (26.1) average use
introverted Sensing (Si) ************ (23) limited use
extraverted Intuiting (Ne) *********** (42) excellent use
introverted Intuiting (Ni) ************ (29.8) average use
extraverted Thinking (Te) *********** (48.4) excellent use
introverted Thinking (Ti) ************ (51.7) excellent use
extraverted Feeling (Fe) ***** (5.4) unused
introverted Feeling (Fi) ************* (13.4) unused

I am sure I use much more than that both Fs and both Ss. And I cannot figure out how possibly could both Ts be almost equally used.
I think the test isn't very good, or maybe it is not easy to sort the functions by self-evaluation on an online test.
And a dumb question: does anybody know what the numbers stand for? I mean, are they percentages? because is odd that nothing sums to 100

Exactly, ptgatsby says that's the reason why he initially typed INTP. He read the type descriptions before he took the test and became prejudiced.
It's still fun taking the test though.

Oh, you Feeling-goddess! :) (Not bad for someone with a "limited vocabulary score" and thus assumed to be articulate as a half-wasted gopher...)

Preferences and skills don't nessecarily go hand in hand that's for sure. I've often wished I made better use of Ni so much that I once thought I did. My mind don't often make those kind of shortcuts though, I have to travel the long Ti Ne way to figure out how things work.
