Only scored High on Schizoid, but already knew that. Not sure if all INTPs are Schizoid, but it seems likely that all Schizoids will test out as INTPs. It also didn't include Secret-Schizoid, which would have been more accurate.

I thought I would be high on that one. Instead, I was high on Schizotypal. Although, the description didn't seem to fit very well... as far as "Superstitious or preoccupied with paranormal phenomena" (that would be a "NO")... same goes for "Odd beliefs or magical thinking"... no lol.

I think the questions were a bit... stupid. For example: "Do you have obsessive-compulsive behaviors?" From what I've experienced, most people think they have some degree of OCD... they really don't seem to grasp that the compulsions are carried out to temporarily relieve extreme anxiety that conflicts with "being able to carry out a normal life". It kind of annoys me when people learn that you've taken medication for something like OCD and they say, "I think I have that, too. I always have to like clean my room on the weekends and wash my hands after I pee and stuff." Half of my coworkers have said something similar to that.

The other annoying reaction: people who try to provoke anxiety. I was in a lab group with a girl who would take whatever germ infested substance we happened to be working with... and "accidentally" get it on my lab book or me. If she had ever figured out what actually set off the anxiety, I probably would have really blown up at her. I should mention that she is aspiring to be a psychiatrist.

The others:

Paranoid: Moderate
Schizoid: Moderate
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Moderate
Narcissistic: Low
Avoidant: Moderate
Dependent: Low

It is pretty common for intelligent NPs to get higher on Schizotypal. It doesn't really mean much. The thinking style (maybe the randomness of Ne) just skews the tests that way.

No, these tests only check for particular patterns that also appear in the "disorders"... but disorders are characterized by rigid thinking and inability to keep your life together -- i.e., far more extreme manifestations of these traits than the run-downs popularized here in these tests. Go meet someone who is clinically schizoid or borderline or avoidant and you'll see the difference immediately.

The Oldham personality styles are actually attempts to pinpoint positive "personality types" derived from the more extreme disorders... i.e., the natural, neutral behaviors that for disorders are taken to extremes.
