Hello TypeC! I am gathering data for a friend who is interested to see type and age-related patterns in the ability to interpret emotion from eye gaze alone. The test is derived from the "Reading the Mind in the Eyes" test developed by prof. Simon Baron-Cohen. This survey is out of pure curiosity and is not to be taken too seriously. We are looking for a wide range of ages and types so thank you to everyone who decides to contribute!

Eyes - emotions test

I'll do my best to publish results here every so often.

I expected to get a lot lower because half of this I was just lost hahaha.... 21/35 for me

Had my mom (ESFJ) take it too out of curiosity, since I assumed she would do better (and because I know her type), she scored 20/35 hahaha

30/35, not bad. I automatically associate that sultry makeup with certain emotions, so that helped

Got 32/35. Fun test - thanks for sharing :D Some of the expressions were quite easier to understand than others imo...

Its true eyes are the mirror of our souls I guess

The ones I missed are the ones I almost went with / was torn between 2 answers on.

Take away multiple choice and let's see how people do then.

RadicalDoubt I was lost in half of it either hahaha
I had to search a few words because of my poor english vocabulary. Some words I were... "Oh, okay...".
For me uneasy and suspicious are more or less of the same.

We could relate your nickname with this eye here:

...seems to be close to other entps.

I found myself becoming annoyed that I couldn't see other nonverbals. I thought the one woman wanted to kick my ass, but she was flirting with me!  :pinkcuffs:

I thought a couple were "sad" but the only options were upbeat descriptions.. guessed on those.

31 but it would have been more like 34 had I not questioned my initial instincts or had issue with certain descriptor word choices.

Introverted NF... make my ennea-type whatever you want it to be.

25/35. It's not helpful at all since some answers were random.

Take away multiple choice and let's see how people do then.

Agreed. That's a great suggestion.
Using multiple choices it's very likely some answers will be correct by pure luck or process of elimination.

Multiple choices makes it easier to gather data, not necessarily efficient observations. Maybe relying on a test that asks people to answer with simple common words and verifying automatically those results via a database/list of probable answers would be a more efficient way to go about it.

I'll forward this suggestion. I like your verification method, but it's still going to be so much more difficult to implement than multiple choice. This isn't my study, but I am in an academic research program and well aware of how much of a headache qualitative data is. This study isn't academic research. It is for funsies at this point.

I got 28 out of 36. I'm not sure why they added another one for me.

I guess I've gotten better at this. Somehow I got better at nonverbal communication?
