That's mad, I know a lot about the ILP via Orwell, Winterington and other English socialists associated with it and I've never heard of this "centrism" jargon.

I know about the whole "opportunism" BS, trotskyists say that about others, stalinists say that about trotskyists etc. etc. and so the merry go round turns. Those kinds of self-obsessive navel gazing routines were deliberately fomented by unfriendly forces and hostiles all through the seventies and eighties. It worked really effectively.

Debates about tactics and ideological purity is how anyone unfriendly/hostile to any political cause would like its actual supporters to occupy their time. You can tell most of the successful movements in history because they didnt care about that sort of thing, either by design or default they welcomed any step in the direction of their goals.

Like any socialist who sees the alternative social order they desire as a post-capitalist one and spends any sort of time studying the actual advent/ascendancy of capitalism will know it never resulted from groups of political conspirators debating whether to support/endorse reforms, political campaigning or insurrection/violence.

Sounds about right. On the conventional left-right axis in the US, I'm definitely more left, but I'm opposed to nationalizing industries and recognize there are limits to taxation and regulation. You need a bottom-up, grassroots approach at all levels in conjunction with meaningful national policy.
