the real neo-pi-r

I scored ridiculously high in neuroticism, if I'm understanding the results properly. I usually score low.

There's one funny typo "#178 I consider myself borax-minded and tolerant of other people's lifestyles." Eh wot? lol

Hmmm... now, what does it all mean lol

**EDIT**
"The NEO PI-R is a concise measure of the five major domains of personality, as well as the six traits or facets that define each domain. Taken together, the five domain scales and 30 facet scales of the NEO PI-R facilitate a comprehensive and detailed assessment of normal adult personality. The NEO PI-R has useful applications in counselling, clinical psychology, psychiatry, behavioural medicine and health psychology, vocational counselling and industrial/organizational psychology, and educational and personality research.

Neuroticism (N) - refers to the chronic level of emotional adjustment and instability. High N identifies individuals who are prone to psychological distress.
Extraversion (E) - refers to the quantity and intensity of preferred interpersonal interactions, activity level, need for stimulation, and capacity for joy. High E identifies individuals who tend to be sociable, active, talkative, person oriented, optimistic, fun loving, and affectionate.
Openness to Experience (O) - refers to the active seeking and appreciation of experiences for their own sake. High O identifies individuals who are curious, imaginative, and willing to entertain novel ideas and unconventional values.
Agreeableness (A) - refers to the kinds of interactions an individual prefers along a continuum from compassion to antagonism. High A identifies individuals who tend to be soft-hearted, good natured, trusting, helpful, forgiving, and altruistic.
Conscientiousness (C) - assesses the degree of organization, persistence, control, motivation in goal-directed behaviour. High C identifies individuals who tend to be organized, reliable, hard-working, self-directed, punctual, scrupulous, ambitious, and persevering." NEO PI-R | Psych Press

Hard to answer some of these questions- How the hell am I supposed to know how people see me as, unless they say it to me?????

cacaia lol. I have similar hangups.
It would fall under intuition, I assume. I've worked very hard to squash that within me. It's not my place to assume how others feel or what they're thinking... and with the masks people wear, what I SEE might not necessarily be correct anyhow.
BUT, if you're attentive and open, people usually reveal (some facet of) what they're thinking and feeling through their body language.

yup... I went down the road of overanalyzing every twitch of people's faces, and reading into what people said but did not mean waaay too much in my youth. Before I knew about the MBTI and before I knew that sensors and sensor thinkers would talk in very concrete ways, I would overanalyze and come to conclusions too fast. I still struggle with this, in fact. I have to, as you said, tune out their body and face language sometimes. That half a second expression before they mask it. I see it, but I have to catch myself- maybe they are tired, and maybe they were reminded of something that has nothing to do with me before they masked their expression. But you know....you can't really read into their soul.
Last year, I thought I had a friend by the way she treated me- she was nice to my face, but the longer we talked, the more she closed herself off to me. I sensed there was something wrong, but she guaranteed me there was nothing wrong and I was reading too much into it. When she moved, another coworker told me she hatd me.My instincts were right, but I still felt quite gaslighted. Anyway...that was a tangent, wasn' it? LOL:D

Despite me saying this through text, lol, I work very hard to stay humble and know my place.
I used to always say or think: "That person is sad...", "This person is annoyed with me..." until I realized just how arrogant that is. I'm not infallible. How can I assume to be so sure about what's going on with someone else. Now I say, I feel the "perceived emotions" of others. It's to remind myself that I might not be right, lol, and to chill my britches. It's a problem when I'm out in the world, picking up all sorts of emotions and not being able to tune them out. By reminding myself I could be wrong, it keeps me from getting as overwhelmed as quickly.
It's silly. It's really just semantics, but it still helps me.

BUT, even though I squash my intuition, if I cannot read someone at all, then I'm on high alert.

**EDIT**
Hmmmm... but now, I wonder if reading people is entirely an intuition thing or is it also (or entirely) extraverted sensing?
