Not just one thing. A general milieu of pile-ons, hostility, and disrespect. I've moved more posts to OT in the past 24 hours than I think I did in the previous month.

This actually means that some posters wont be posting at all because I've not known them to post anything besides those sorts of posts at all.
All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.

    Let's all eat brownies.

Here's a picture of an elephant. For no reason at all. I just like elephants.

Deep breaths. Think before you post. Here's a handy guide:

    • Am I addressing someone by a made-up name that is meant to mock them?
    • Am I using any gender/racial/religion-based slurs?
    • Am I objectifying someone who posted their photo?
    • Am I being a complete and utter cad?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, take a break and come back later. This forum is not your sandbox, so please stop taking all your dumps in here.
    cad (n.)
1730, shortening of cadet (q.v.); originally used of servants, then (1831) of town boys by students at British universities and public schools (though at Cambridge it meant "snob"). Meaning "person lacking in finer feelings" is from 1838.
A cad used to be a jumped-up member of the lower classes who was guilty of behaving as if he didn't know that his lowly origin made him unfit for having sexual relationships with well-bred women. [Anthony West, "H.G. Wells: Aspects of a Life," 1984]
So using classist slurs is totally fine?

Wtg, Ivy. I always knew you were an elitist. You probably didn't accept that coffee because you knew it wouldn't be a single origin exotic coffee that's sweetened with the tears of poor people.

Perhaps *you're* the one who needs to calm down then.

I've seen more posts unnecessarily moved to off-topic in the last 24 hrs than in the entire time I've been here.
