So introverted sensing is "Reviewing and recalling past experiences and seeking detailed data" according to
ISTPs and their 8 cognitive functions
I noticed ISTP in stories I read use introverted sensing when they are distressed and a great peril of danger and recall past experience from a memory they had a long time ago. What is your experience when using introverted sensing?

Following Isabel Briggs Myers, ISTP doesn't have introverted sensing at their stack. They have Ti primary paired with Se auxiliary, and Ni tertiary paired with Fe inferior.

ISTP has Si as a response function to Se. With Se, they observe the world in detail and follow impulses. Afterwards, standard aspects of the world will occur to them, and they will ensure safe procedure regarding their impulses.
It will also take place in terms of often unintentionally remembering things from the past, and this will have an overall positive nature to it, since Si is a somewhat energising function for ISTP.
