Study is blowing air into a balloon. A balloon has circumference, like the circle of a venn diagram. In this venn diagram you can start trapping more and more shit with greater precision in your discernment.

So the functions are like your little balloons of air. Sometimes your balloon is really small and everything you see just doesn't fit into your balloon. You gotta stretch it and make it nice and puffy with experience until the things you see find their homes nice and easy.

But even then you will find things you haven't found room for in your balloons. This is why Jung championed the individual approach to the art of typology.

I regard them as an intellectual construct that helps to describe reality, a bit like the laws of physics. Their realness is proportional to the accuracy, which isn't absolutely proven yet.
