If we put thinking/feeling and sensing/intuitive distinctions aside for a moment, what is your take on the key differences between JiPe and PeJi (dominant extraverted perceiving and dominant introverted judging)? And how about PiJe and JePi in the J types? In other words, the difference between introversion and extraversion within dom/aux pairs. What separates INFP and ENFP? ISTJ and ESTJ? Etc.

Whether prioritization or intake of information is given preference - P-dom will tend to give preference to information if it's available, while J-dom will tend to give preference to prioritization if it's possible. That, plus internal (Xi) or external (Xe) focus.

In other words - preference for...

Internal information: IxxJ
External prioritization: ExxJ
Internal prioritization: IxxP
External information: ExxP

INFP will prefer to attend to how they feel internally, while ENFP will prefer to focus on external patterns. ISTJ will prefer to focus on conceptualization, while ESTJ will prefer to attend to taking action to change the environment.
