I find that I am usually awkward around ISTPs. It's not their fault, really, I just never know exactly what to say or how to gauge their responses.

I am like that around ISTJs of the quiet/peaceful variety. "As much as I like you, I have no idea what to say."

It looks like the 2 top most hated types are ESFJ and ESTJ, the ultimate enforcers of tradition, and the very least likely types to be found on this website!

i haven't noticed a typological trend yet. there haven't been enough of the same type fucking up for me to come to a conclusion. a group of people i tend to dislike are blonde, chatter-box, California psuedo-liberals whom call to catchphrases like "peace in the middle east" and routinely watch Jersey shore or bad gir'ls club. at first, their bubbly nature can be entertaining, but eventually their novelty wears off and they are vapid, uninformed, unenlightened, and in dire need of solitude & a designated driver.

There are very few people I dislike or have ever "had a problem with." But conceptually, I despise everything ESTJ's embody: rules, procedures, the status quo, etc. That simplistic rigidity is a roadblock to progress, living life to the fullest, and the advancement of the human condition!

You don't know him like I do. ;)

Looks to me like the poll is statistically rigged against ENTJs..potentially anyway..they're listed twice.

Yes, INTJs were listed twice too. It's my bad, I've repeated these two types and missed ISFP and ESFP. But it doesn't seem to need those options in the poll, because the dislike over ESTJs and ESFJs are notable.
And I perfectly understand why. ESFJs are not that bad in my opinion, they have their flaws like every other type. But ESTJs and I are not likely to stay in a room peacefully.

I think for me, ESTJs are at least predictable. I understand them and so have no problem dealing with them. They're direct. They're honest. You know where they stand because they tell you.

All true, but I don't handle any of these facts well. The direct and honest thing often hurts me, because they always shoot me in the face in truths about me, but in front of other people, and I often feel unconfortable, then my Fi comes into action: I feel like they only want to hurt and embarass me.

Really? I known some wonderful ISTPs, I like everything about them. What you said is true, about the awkward thing about not knowing what to say etc.
But with time I've learned what to do, and became friends with an awesome ISTP, possibly my best friend.

Anyway, statiscally, the least liked types in this poll are ESTJs, ESFJs, ISFJs, ENFJs and ENFPs. 4 of the 5 top voted options have a F preference, 4 out of 5 fave a J tendency, and lastly 4 out of 5 have an Extrovert attitude.

Any comments about this?

Yeah it shows the power of rumour and speculation, coupled with a self-centred justification of why you didn't get along with someone. Some might say its because most people online are introverted perceivers, however, I think it is more accurate to say that it is because people have spent a nice long time diluting and swirling a theory around enough that they can break it down to a few simple traits, so much so that people are liable to typify a person they didn't get along with as a certain type based upon an educated guess of 'what seems to be right'.

Does that make these statistics inaccurate? Difficult to answer, it will be hard to pick through those who are correct in their evaluation and those who merely typed based on their own pre-conceived biases. Afterall if I were a living stereotypes of an INTP for example and I lived with a bossy parent who demanded that I go out and work for a living like a normal person, or that I socialise more, then I might be inclined to go 'hah ESFJ knew it!!' based upon the pre-conceived, internet-influenced notion in my mind that this is what an ESFJ constitutes.
Of course since there is no evaluation involved here, this person could be one of any number of types which is irrelevant of course because ive already decided in my mind what this person is.

In any case in my experiences, as far as I can tell it has been like this:

Online: INFP and INTP

Offline: ESTP, INTJ, ISTP, INFJ, INFP and ESTJ.

Of course I have no idea if any of those are accurate. They are only based on repeated patterns and the offline ones are purely based around those same 'educated' guesses.

In that sense they are little better than a series of justificated cognitive biases. All that can be said for certain is that they were dicks.

Well, you did not ask about least liked types just about the types that we have had the worst experiences with..... there is a big difference. Also, it's just a confirmation for your biases....it kind of seems like a loaded question.

I completely understand what you are talking about.

I find that frequently the things they are bombarding you with are not true. A lot of them (not all) seem to erupt verbally. At times, I don't know if they are just being direct or getting emotional. If you're patient in dealing with that, listen, don't get upset, stand your ground and focus on facts, it works out ok. When they do that in front of other people, I do get extremely annoyed and generally talk to them afterwards about it - need to have a unified front, consider the perceptions of others, or some other valid reason.

One thing I have run into in the past is a very senior ESTJ that I worked for. In status meetings, he would expect you to be on top of all of these detailed facts. He had unrealistic expectations because the business he knew is not what I did. He understood a stable and largely unchanging business environment and the area that I'm working in is very dynamic. I had to spend an inordinate amount of time preparing for meetings to be able to report status on the things he was interested in which wasn't entirely possible because of the nature of things and with the reporting mechanisms in place, it wasn't easy to gather the information he was looking for. So, I pretty much ended up having to waste time trying to prepare these meetings when my time could have been spent better elsewhere.

So, I guess that I have had challenges. They are so common in the business world though that you get used to dealing with them.

IRL probably ExTJs.

On-line: males who type themselves as INTJ or INFP; ENTPs of both sexes

This one ENFP does everything in his power to annoy me... same with my ISTP older brother (though my ENFP younger brother and I get along well).

ISTJs, although I find them well worth putting up with in the long run. In the short run, they drive me NUTS over things that, to me, are of zero consequence.

ENTPs for the same reasons Senza Tema gave. EXXP anything starts to give me The Unbearable Lightness of Being blues.

Omg what the hell is that? Their personality is too buoyant for you?

Online: INTPs. I tend to offend them and be totally unaware I did so, then they hold it against me until the end of time.

IRL: Love INTPs :) ESTPs are very different but not bad, just see things very differently. ESFJs call me weird.

I don't have warm fuzzies over Me + ENxP in the context of a longterm relationship, based on past experience with both, but I have a feeling they feel the same way about me. As a type though I don't at all dislike them, and all of this goes with the usual disclaimer that I don't put all of my stock in mbti and there's a lot of individual variation. etc etc. ;)

I can clash with Si doms if they use Si as their only form of reasoning. That pissing me right the fuck off. It's not always bad, but whenever raw, baby Si leads to social problems.. that's really bad. I also hate it when this happens in an argument I have against an Si dom. Can't freaking stand it.

INTP's caught in a Ti - Si loop can also be pretty bad. They become cynical and pedantic... you really can't get along with someone so abnoxious.

These things aren't THAT common though. All in all, I get along with every type.

My family is chocked full of SJs and almost all of them get on my goddamn freaking nerves. The only ones that I have no problem with are ESTJs (and a few other SJs I've met on this board are pretty damn cool). I just have a thing for Te-doms. Immature ESFPs run a close second.

I guess that's one way to put it. Makes me sound kind of a miserable person, doesn't it. It's just that they are so casual in interactions that are so personal, to me. I think it all means something but it doesn't, so I get my feelings hurt or I'm disappointed. Too flirty/flighty for me.

You know how you people are! You go around making everybody fall in love with you!

What I heard

ENFP's are a fusion of unrestrained viking kickass-ness rolled up with the sensuality of aphrodite. Their charms and charisma are too much to bear. I once got pregnant by brushing shoulders with an ENFP. In fact, I'm getting all moist and gooey just talking about them. If I ever see them talking with anyone else, get extremely jealous and would do anything to make that stop.

Tell me about it girl. :coffee:
