? Personality Projection

When you meet new people how quick are you to reveal your true personality in different situations and what aspect(s) of your personality do you try to project first?

- At a party or club where you don't know the person and they aren't part of your circle of friends
- When your are the new one in a group of friends (or maybe you know one of them but none of the rest, especially if they are talking about their own experiences which you weren't there for)
- When a new person is introduced to your group
- A friend's parents
- The boss (especially if you don't work alongside them)
- In a new classroom where you don't know anyone
- Business party with some known and some unknown co-worker, executives, and business partners
- Blind date
- Online forum, social networking site, and/or dating site

Most of it. Online, it's either usually my fun, bubbly side, or my stringent, logical side. It's hard for me to show both in one post for some reason. IRL, you'll get both soon enough, just depending on the nature of the conversation. I think the bubbly side comes out first though. What isn't obvious is my emotional vulnerability. Most people would describe me as outgoing or confident... if only they knew.

I'm quiet and observant in most group situations, even when I'm familiar with all participants. If the dynamic is open, inclusive, and irreverent then I'll relax and let my teasing nature come through. If the group feels in any way closed, clique-ish, or uptight then I'll barely speak.
